Jewellers Reviews

Review Guidelines

Our guidelines exist to protect buyers and jewellers alike. Please read them before writing or responding to a review — it takes less than two minutes.

Jewellers Reviews is built on one principle: buyers deserve honest information. Every guideline below exists to keep reviews trustworthy for the people reading them. Whether you're a first-time reviewer or a business owner responding to feedback, these rules apply to everyone equally — and they will be enforced.

Who can write a review?

Anyone who has had a genuine purchasing or service experience with a listed jeweller is welcome to share their feedback. You do not need to register an account to write a review, though providing a valid email helps us verify authenticity.

You must have interacted directly with the business — either by purchasing a product, visiting a store, or receiving a service. Reviews from friends or family members of business owners, current or former employees, or competitors are strictly prohibited.

💡

One review per experience. If you made multiple purchases from the same jeweller, you may submit one review per distinct purchase — not one review covering all of them at once, and not the same experience submitted more than once.

What makes a good review — and what's not allowed

Do
  • Write about your own personal experience — describe what you bought, how it arrived, and how the jeweller communicated
  • Be specific and factual — mention product quality, delivery time, packaging, customer service, and after-sale support
  • Be honest — even a mixed experience is valuable. Share what went well and what could be better
  • Update your review if the situation changes — for example, if the business resolved your complaint
  • Add photos of the actual product you received — this helps future buyers enormously
  • Use respectful language, even if you had a poor experience
  • Mention the approximate date of purchase so readers understand the context
Don't
  • Don't submit a fake review — this includes reviews for businesses you haven't used, or writing multiple reviews for the same experience
  • Don't include personal or contact information — never publish names, phone numbers, email addresses, or private correspondence
  • Don't include links or promotional content — no URLs, discount codes, or advertisements of any kind
  • Don't use abusive, discriminatory, or threatening language — criticism must be factual and constructive, not personal
  • Don't write about third parties — a review is about the jeweller, not a courier, manufacturer, or payment provider
  • Don't write about legal disputes — reviews are not the place for active complaints, threats of legal action, or ongoing claims
  • Don't write as an employee or owner — even if you work for a competitor, you may not review their business

Star rating guide

Your star rating should reflect your overall experience with the jeweller — not just the product. Use this guide to choose the most accurate rating.

★★★★★
5 stars Excellent
Outstanding in every way — product quality, communication, delivery, and after-sales care all exceeded expectations. You would recommend this jeweller without hesitation.
★★★★
4 stars Good
A strong experience with only minor issues. Everything went largely as expected, and you would likely buy from this jeweller again.
★★★★★
3 stars Average
An acceptable experience but with noticeable shortcomings. The product arrived but the service, quality, or communication left room for improvement.
★★★★★
2 stars Poor
A largely disappointing experience. Significant problems with quality, communication, or delivery that were not adequately resolved by the business.
★★★★
1 star Terrible
A seriously bad experience — item not received, completely misrepresented product, or complete failure to communicate or resolve a clear problem.
⚠️

A 1-star review must be backed by specific, factual details in the review body. Ratings given without a meaningful written explanation may be removed during moderation.

Photos & media

Photos of the product you received are a powerful way to help other buyers. We strongly encourage them — especially for rings, necklaces, and bespoke pieces where quality can vary significantly from product images.

Product photos Clear photos of the item you actually received — ring, necklace, bracelet, watch, etc.
Packaging & unboxing Photos of how the item was packaged, presented, and delivered
Quality detail shots Close-up images showing craftsmanship, stone clarity, or any defects you experienced
No personal images Do not upload photos showing faces, identifiable people, or private locations
No screenshots Screenshots of private conversations, emails, or receipts are not permitted
No offensive content Violent, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate imagery will be removed immediately
📎

Photos must be your own — do not upload images taken from the jeweller's website, social media, or any third-party source. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP. Maximum size: 8 MB per image.

How moderation works

Every review submitted to Jewellers Reviews passes through a moderation process before it appears publicly. We check both automatically and manually.

1

Submission & automated checks

When you submit a review, it is immediately scanned for spam signals, duplicate content, and obvious guideline violations such as links or inappropriate language.

2

Human review

Our moderation team reads every review to check it meets our guidelines. We look for specificity, authenticity signals, and any content that could be misleading or harmful.

3

Published or flagged

Reviews that meet our standards are published, typically within 24–48 hours. Reviews that don't meet guidelines are either returned to the author for editing or removed with an explanation.

4

Ongoing monitoring

Published reviews can be reported at any time. We re-evaluate flagged reviews and take action — including removal — if new information changes our assessment.

🔒

Moderation decisions are made independently of the businesses reviewed. A business cannot pay to have a review removed, and complaining about a review does not automatically lead to its removal.

Business owner responses

Verified business owners and their representatives may respond to any review on their profile. A thoughtful, professional response can demonstrate excellent customer service — even for negative feedback.

Good responses
  • Acknowledge the customer's experience and thank them for taking the time
  • Offer to resolve the issue directly — and follow through
  • Correct factual inaccuracies calmly and with evidence
  • Be professional and concise — responses are public and reflect your brand
Not acceptable
  • Do not attack or demean the reviewer — regardless of whether you believe the review is unfair
  • Do not include promotional content — no discount codes, product links, or marketing language
  • Do not threaten legal action in a public response — contact us privately if you believe a review is defamatory
  • Do not post multiple responses to the same review
🏢

Only verified business owners with an approved claim can respond. Responses are moderated and may be removed if they violate these guidelines. Claim your business profile to get started.

How to report a review

If you see a review that appears to violate our guidelines — whether it contains fake content, personal information, abusive language, or anything else prohibited — please flag it using the Report button next to the review.

1

Click the Report button

Found on every review card. You do not need to be logged in to submit a report.

2

Choose a reason

Select the most appropriate category: fake review, personal information, offensive content, conflict of interest, spam, or other.

3

We investigate

Our team reviews every report within 72 hours. If the review breaks our guidelines, it will be edited or removed. You will not receive a notification of the outcome, but we act on every valid report.

⚠️

False reports are taken seriously. Submitting reports in bad faith — for instance, to suppress legitimate negative feedback about your own business — is a violation of these guidelines and may result in account suspension.

Consequences of violating these guidelines

We take the integrity of our platform seriously. When guidelines are breached, we take appropriate action — proportionate to the severity and frequency of the violation.

  • Review removal — any review found to be fake, incentivised, or otherwise in breach of our guidelines will be removed without notice
  • Account suspension — accounts found submitting fake or malicious reviews will be permanently suspended
  • Business profile flagging — businesses found to be manipulating their ratings (soliciting fake positive reviews or reporting legitimate negative ones in bad faith) will have a public notice added to their profile
  • Legal referral — in serious cases involving deliberate fraud or defamation, we reserve the right to pass information to relevant authorities

If you believe an action taken against your review or account was made in error, you can appeal by contacting us at support@jewellersreviews.com. Include your review details and reason for appeal. We review all appeals fairly.
